          We can prescribe antibiotics for the bacterial condition known as Strep Throat (pharyngitis). Common symptoms of this include: Throat pain that usually comes on quickly, pain when swallowing, red / swollen tonsils, sometimes with white patches or streaks of pus, tiny red spots on the area at the back of the roof of the mouth (soft or hard palate), swollen, tender lymph nodes in your neck, fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting, especially in younger children.           Bacterial meningitis can cause brain damage, deafness, blindness, epilepsy, blood poisoning  and can even be fatal.

          Measles usually starts with cold-like symptoms, followed by a rash a few days later. The MMR vaccine can prevent measles. It also protects you from mumps and rubella.

          The MMR vaccine is offered to all children in the UK. 2 doses can give lifelong protection against measles, mumps, and rubella.


          Meningitis ACWY

          This vaccine is required for pilgrimage of Hajj and Umrah. A certificate which we can provide, is required to enter the country for pilgrimage. 
A single dose is all that is required 2-3 weeks before travel. Protection lasts for around 5 years
 


          Meningitis B

          Meningitis is a serious, potentially fatal, infection caused by bacteria or a virus. 

          Bacterial meningitis can cause brain damage, deafness, blindness, epilepsy, blood poisoning  and can even be fatal. 

          No vaccine is 100 percent effective but getting vaccinated can help to protect you.


          Migraine

          Symptoms of a migraine include a severe headache - often on one side of the head, nausea, vomiting sensitivity to light, sound and smells; some sufferers will experience an aura (flashing lights or opaque spots). Our pharmacist can prescribe prescription medicines to help without the need to see a GP 


          MMR Vaccination

          Our MMR vaccination service  can help to protect you against measles, mumps and rubella. - diseases you may come across when travelling. Two doses for full protection (the second dose is given at least four weeks after the first).


          Nausea

          Nausea (feeling of sickness) can be caused by many factors but before prescribing anything our pharmacist will want to find out whether you have any other medical conditions.

          Whether you are pregnant, this is so they can prescribe the most appropriate medication for you.


          Oral Contraceptives

          It can be impractical to see the gp for repeat prescriptions of your regular contraception; you may be away from home and forgotten to pack your pills, no problem our pharmacist can help with replacements. Speak to them in absolute confidence and discretely in our private consultation room.


          Period Delay

          Periods can start at the most inconvenient of times, like just before a holiday. We can prescribe hormone-based treatments that can delay period onset leaving you to enjoy your holiday.


          Period Pain

          Period pain is often accepted as a normal part of your monthly cycle. However for may women it can be severe to the extent that it prevents them from carrying out day to day activities. Speak to our pharmacist he is able to prescribe pain killers and treatments specifically suited to deal with this condition 


          Pneumococcal

          The pneumococcal  (pneumonia) vaccine protects against serious and potentially fatal pneumococcal infections. The pneumonia vaccine can prevent you from becoming seriously ill. It’s given as a single injection. You can walk-in or book an appointment online. At your appointment we’ll ask some medical questions. 


          Premature Ejaculation

          This condition can be frustrating for both partners, but help is at hand that can help delay ejaculation and prolong intimacy and boost confidence.


          Respiratory

          We can prescribe certain inhalers to patients that have previously prescribed these, if they have ran out and are in need.


          Rosacea

          This is skin condition that causes blushing or flushing of the face as well as pus-filled bumps. It affects the cheeks, nose, skin and forehead and will often expose surface blood vessels of the face. Our treatment options include creams, gels and antibiotics

          Strep A Antibiotics

          We can prescribe antibiotics for the bacterial condition known as Strep Throat (pharyngitis). Common symptoms of this include: Throat pain that usually comes on quickly, pain when swallowing, red / swollen tonsils, sometimes with white patches or streaks of pus, tiny red spots on the area at the back of the roof of the mouth (soft or hard palate), swollen, tender lymph nodes in your neck, fever, headache, rash, nausea or vomiting, especially in younger children. Note  sore throats may also be due to virus, in this instance antibiotics would no be appropriate. Speak to our pharmacist for free advice.


          Thrush

          Thrush is a yeast infection (commonly Candida albicans) that can be found in the genital areas, armpits and between the toes. Both men and women can get thrush and it can be passed on through sexual activity. Symptoms depend on the location off the infection and include, redness, inflammation, soreness and discharge Our pharmacist can prescribe creams and oral medication to help resolve the symptoms of thrush


          Traveller’s Diarrhoea

          Travellers' diarrhoea is spread mainly through food and water, but also from person to person 

          Symptoms include; loose bowel, fever, tummy cramps, urgent need to pass bowel motion, nausea or vomiting. It can cause dehydration and rehydration sachets can counter this in mild cases. 

          We can prescribe Antibiotics to help treat severe travellers diahorrea.

      How do I know if my prescription is "urgent"?

          We would love to deliver all prescriptions the same day! However, due to high demand we have to prioritise the most vulnerable. This means our same day service is available to the following situations.

          • Antibiotic prescriptions
          • Controlled Drugs
          • Written or phone call requests directly from the surgery to our pharmacist  

          We understand that running out of prescription medication is a worry, so always be sure to order in good time or if you have trouble organising your repeats our pharmacy team can help with managing that. Speak to a member of your pharmacy team today.

      How do I collect my NHS prescription medication?

          We are a Distance Selling Pharmacy (DSP). We deliver all prescription medication directly to the patients address free of charge. You are unable to collect from the pharmacy directly. We are registered with the General Pharmacetical Council (GPhC) as is required by law of all pharmacies in the UK.

      Can I get my prescription delivered to my home?

          The time it takes for your prescription to be ready can vary based on the pharmacy's workload and the availability of the medication. It's a good idea to call the pharmacy ahead of time to check on the status. 

      Can you advise on the side effects of my medicines?

          Pharmacy staff can provide information about common side effects associated with your medication. However, it's important to read the patient information leaflet that comes with your medication and consult your doctor if you have concerns.

      Can I get a specify the brand or manufacturer?

          In most cases, pharmacists can dispense a specific generic version of a prescribed medication if it's available. Generic medications contain the same active ingredients and are equivalent in quality and effectiveness to brand-name medications.

      Can I get advice on over-the-counter medicines?

      Can I move my prescription/s to your pharmacy?

          Yes, you can transfer your prescription from one pharmacy to another. Simply provide the new pharmacy with your prescription details, and they will arrange the transfer for you.
